How to Exhibit
Your Artwork?

Not only do we try to bring artistic events to the Suffield Community, but we also help promote local artists.  We do this by awarding Annual Scholarships (June) to local artists and also invite local artists to display their work at the William Pinney Art Gallery, lower level at Kent Memorial Library.

The Arts Council is always looking for new artists to exhibit their work.  This is a great opportunity for artists to display their creations and expose the community to the wonderful talent from the area.  This is not limited to Suffield residents.  We have had many artists from the Hartford County, as well as the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts.

The William Pinney Art Gallery is a small art gallery available in Suffield, CT at the Kent Memorial Library.  The library in Suffield is a heavily used facility and this room hosts a lot of activities and meetings, providing good exposure for local artists.

Exhibit can include works from one or more artists.  Exhibits are usually scheduled in one month increments, but that is flexible.  An Artist's work will be reviewed prior to exhibiting by the Arts Council's Gallery Coordinator.

Gallery Boards:
    6 boards - 2x4 feet
    4 boards - 4x4 feet
    3 boards - 4x8 feet
There is also a small round table that we can used.  Artists must provide their own means for hanging their work.  Framed work is suggested, but not required.  There are also options for artists to display their work in a glass cabinet with shelves.

We ask that artists provide biographical details and information about their work for publicity and opening announcements.  A photograph of their work is also good for press.

Artists can leave a sign-in book for guests, business cards and a price list, if the artists wish to sell their wares.  Any sales must be done directly with the artist.  The Library and the Arts Council will not get involved in any sales.  We do ask that any sale items not be removed until after the exhibit's completion.

Artists may also wish to host a reception for the opening of their exibit to meet and greet the public.  The artists wishes to offer refreshments at their opening, the Arts Council asks that they provide this. Artists do not have to be Suffield residents.  Please contact us (link below) if you are interested in exhibiting your work.  The Suffield Arts Council has exhibits in the gallery throughout the year.
